4 Ways to Make a Difference From Your Couch

ways to make a difference from your couchWith ThanksGIVING right around the corner, what better way to celebrate than by giving from the comfort of your couch? There are so many ways to give back to the world that it’s almost overwhelming and confusing because you don’t know what really goes to the cause and what doesn’t. Well, you’re in luck because I’ve made it super easy for you. Here’s 4 ways to make a difference from your couch:

change.org

If we’re Facebook friends, you’ll know that I’ve been posting an “I signed ______ petition!” almost every other day. That’s because Change.org is the largest online petitioning platform that really makes a difference!

Just by the click of a button, I’ve helped bring a dog home that was unjustly taken away from his owner, stopped horse abuse, released a circus elephant into the wild, etc. and you can do it, too. It’s extremely rewarding and you’re doing such a good, easy deed.

I’ve been an avid DSWT supporter ever since Christie Brinkley went on The View to talk about her trip to Africa where she worked hands on with orphaned elephants.

This Trust is legit and for just $50 a year you can help end poaching and save the elephants. If poaching and the ivory trade continues, elephants will be extinct in 10 years. 10 years! It’s time to wake up.

Beth Stern, another lovely animal activist, brought awareness to this amazing rescue team through her #catstagram. She fosters tons of cats, and finds them forever homes.

In fact, we rescued our puppy from NSAL 8 months ago. There are so many babies that were neglected and abused that need homes, it’s devastating.

#adoptnotshop is definitely a concept near and dear to my heart now.

The Instagram videos will make you cry. I never even knew orangutans were in danger until @ModelsofCompassion. How some people treat these animals is disgusting. They are the closest relative to humans… I don’t get it.

With all the events happening in the world, it’s important to focus on the good, on doing good. In order to help heal the world we have to be the best we can be, whether that’s lending your time to an organization, donating a little money to one of the sites above, or maintaining the best social media etiquette.

I’m sure there’s more than 4 ways to make a difference from your couch. If you can think of any more worth mentioning tell me in the comments below! Have a great week everyone.

xx
