I’m not a broke girl anymore but that doesn’t mean I can’t shop like one. In fact, the only reason I’m not broke is because I shop like I am! Each season you should add about 3 new items, that don’t break the bank, to your wardrobe. So, as always, I want to add as much value to your life as I possibly can which is why I decided to share all my secrets in my broke girl’s guide to summer shopping. The best part? 1 | I was pleasantly surprised to learn rope belts are back! This H&M belt is perfect for summer, and I actually added it last minute to my list because I thought it went perfectly with this Forever 21 dress.
2 | It looks like these H&M shorts go perfectly with the top and they might, for some people, but I prefer to wear them separately. You can pair them with a bodysuit, loose top and blazer for a polished look, or a plain t-shirt for a more casual vibe.
3 | I’ve been having a hard time buying dresses that are shorter than knee length but this beautiful summer-esque sundress is the exception.
4 | I understand white is the color of summer but don’t rule out black completely. This black lace top from H&M is such a dream and could go with jeans, shorts, or even a high waisted pencil skirt.
5 | It’s not groundbreaking but it’s trendy: straw bags. They were big in the 60s and 70s and now they’re back. H&M made a great clutch for summer with bamboo detail that I’m absolutely in love with.
6 | Forever 21 is one of my favorite places to get shoes. They’re cheap but don’t look it. These sandals are so versatile and instantly upgrade any outfit with the gold detail.
