My Favorite Advice From My Favorite Men | Father’s Day Edition

father's day editionI write so many Mother’s Day posts it’s only fair I share the love with the Dads out there for a special Father’s Day edition blog post packed with advice from my favorite men. I know “behind every good man is a good woman”, but even without us, they can dish some good stuff… surprisingly, (just kidding!).

In all seriousness, these men have said similar versions of the same thing and the reason for that is because it works! Take their advice, apply it to your life for a month or two, then get back to me.

tony robbins advice

This isn’t the first, nor last time I’ll refer to Tony Robbins. He’s played such a huge role in my blogging journey and life in general.

His advice is timeless and can apply to any person, any business, and practically any situation.

Find your passion, find a problem, find a solution, do more than anyone else is doing, and add massive value. That is the recipe for success. Sure you can work hard, but if you’re not adding value to people’s lives, you won’t get to where you want to go.

People want to know what you can do for them, not what they can do for you.

gary vaynerchuk best advice

People are always watching, listening, and learning from you. The smartest thing you can do is do the right thing. This is your life, your legacy.

This is your life, your legacy. Do you want to be known as the person who’s only nice when people are watching or do you want to be known as the person who picks up trash when no one is around…?

Your word is worth only as much as your actions. So do the right thing in all situations because… why wouldn’t you?

advice from the most influential men

Change is inevitable and how we adapt to it can make or break our lives. Things are going to happen that we have no control over. We’re going to have setbacks and failures. But sometimes failing 99 times out of 100 is just what you need to have that one success that changes everything.

joel osteen advice

You don’t need the approval of others – not your parents, not your friends, not your boyfriend, not your girlfriend.

You’re going to do things no one approves of and you’re going to have to make some tough decisions in your life and that’s just the way it is. Those who really love you, who really want you to win, will stand by your side no matter what.

If I listened to what “everyone” said about going to New York to blog, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I chose to ignore their entire opinion, prove them wrong, and it feels great… and I’m not even done yet!

jim rohn quote

Jim Rohn is so inspiring I couldn’t just pick one quote so I went with my two favorites.

I say the first quote in some way, shape, or form almost every day on my Snapchats (un: notanotherblonde). Saying you “don’t have time” to do something is such a crap excuse.

Do you have time to watch TV, go on Instagram, shop online? Then you have time to hustle and go after your dreams.

One of the best ways I’ve found that keep me motivated is by watching, reading, and listening to inspiring, self-development content… like this post! This is something I would click on, read, absorb, and maybe even take notes on.

You have to get better if you want to do better. Don’t let your skills get stale.

muhammad ali quote

I love that Muhammad Ali didn’t just fight physically but he fought to get better mentally. He was always working on himself and proclaiming himself as some way or another even if he wasn’t quite there at the time. That, my friends, is positive affirmations in action.

When you speak it, you think it, and when you think it, you believe it.

When you believe something it becomes ingrained in your subconscious so subconsciously you will act in a way that will get you to where you want to be aka what you truly believe you’re capable of. In Muhammad Ali’s case he wanted to be the best and he was.

I love this post. This is something I would come back to whenever I need the extra motivation and a reason to never give up. The quote from Jim Rohn is my favorite. It’s easy to wish everything were easier, but the rewarding feeling from getting better at something is just beyond compare.
