Peplum and I have an on again off again relationship. It’s one of those styles that’s been teetering on the edge of being in, then quickly out, then kind of in, then…? Right now there seems to be hype around a subtle peplum versus a more exaggerated peplum that we’re used to and I. Am. Loving it. Peplum is the perfect way to channel your inner 70’s child, {I talk more about that here}.
The best part about a subtle peplum is it’s easy to blend into your wardrobe and wear as an everyday piece. It gives some detail that sets it apart but not too much where it looks like you’re wearing a tutu.
Dos and Don’ts of Peplum
♥ DO go for whites and creams for summer
♥ DON’T pair peplum with an already flowy skirt or trousers
♥ DO wear peplum with distressed skinny jeans or denim cutoffs
♥ DON’T buy an over exaggerated peplum, you’re not in a ballet
