My Mom’s Advice is Better Than Yours

my mom's advice is better than yours

The biggest inspiration in my life is hands down my mom. She turned me on to all things self-development and allowed me to dream bigger than I thought possible. She told me I could do anything I wanted because anything is possible. So really, she’s the brains behind this blonde operation… not me! Anyway, I thought it would be fun to interview her since moms always know best. Plus my mom’s advice is better than yours… or mine for that matter!

Q: What would you tell someone who is struggling to find their purpose?

Find what gives you joy. What’s your ultimate goal, where do you see yourself?

Find your passion and incorporate that somehow into your life, whatever form that takes. Sometimes it happens naturally, sometimes it takes some work.

Your purpose should always include gratitude and giving back to others.

Q: What’s the best way to build self-confidence?

Don’t listen to others’ negative opinions of you.

Keeping a positive outlook and being grateful will build your confidence and know that you are just as good as the next person… if not better.

I think people are their own worst enemies in self-doubt and criticism. We tend to be very hard on ourselves. Treat yourself as you would want others to treat you.

Q: What’s one thing children should understand about their mother?

That’s a good one. One thing? Hm. That they are your mother first and your friend second. I will always be that pain in the butt, but I’ll also be your best friend.

Q: What would you tell someone who thought it was too late to start over?

It’s never too late… ever.

Look at Betty White and all these people in their 90s who have done things. I recently read about a man went back to school to get his degree and he was in his 80s!

Q: What is the greatest lesson your mother (aka my grandmom) taught you?

Be true to yourself.

Q: How have you overcome adversity in your life?

Believing that things will always be ok, knowing that the bad things are temporary and they’re just a small snippet of your life.

Always think positive and know you’re going to come out of every situation ok.
