The Only 6 Things I’ll Wear to Workout

fitness blogger workout outfits

The truth is, I’m not some fashionista at the gym who wears her hair down with a matching two piece set. Though that would be fun, it’s not for me. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t look like a total slob kabob but I also care more about functional workout gear than workout gear that looks pretty. Before you stop me, I know there are brands out there that do both, which is exactly what we’re going to talk about today.

1 | These Lululemon spandies (aka yoga pants/leggings/spandex) are my FAVORITE pants ever. There’s a reason the price is what it is. They’re the bomb.com and I refuse to buy any other workout pants. I particularly like the high-waisted ones because you know, you’re sucked and tucked in there reeeeeal good.

2 | For the longest time (we’re talking years) I wore the same Champion sports bras, like I’ve had the same 4 Champion bras forever. Then, I recently switched to Under Armour because I got a more sports-y vibe from them.

Plus I have Under Armour long-sleeve running shirts and jackets that are super high-quality so I figured the bras would be the same… and they are!

I will give one warning – they’re VERY tight. I’m 122lbs, size 34B-C cup, and wear a size medium, so buy accordingly!

3 | Like I mentioned above I’m a bit of an Under Armor junkie so I have this shirt in pretty much every color. I wear it when I go used to go running in 20 degrees under a coat and I was sweating by the end of my run.

I also love these shirts for working out indoors because they make you sweat extra since they’re long-sleeves and insulated. It could be a mental thing but I totally feel like I burn more calories.

4 | Any grey or black sweatshirt will do but I’m really diggin’ this Adidas sweatshirt, which happens to be on sale right now. I would even wear this sweatshirt out running errands or hanging in with friends. I love that it’s longer than usual because I’m really not a fan of my ass hanging out in spandex.

5 | Socks aren’t something that a lot of people think about… unless you’re a crazy OCD workout junkie like me. These Champion socks are the ONLY socks that I’ve found that actually stay up above your heel, yet they’re low enough so you don’t look like a total dork at the gym. They’re padded, they’re soft, and they hold their shape for years, yes years.

6 | The Nike Juvenates are my favorite sneakers to workout in. They are so lightweight, comfortable, and CUTE! In fact, Nike makes the best sneakers for any occasion. I wear these and these for running errands/walking around in the city.

Great post, I strongly recommend investing money in a good sports bra and the Sneakers, I personally use Nike Free and they are really great. I love them I recently bought the Air max from Nike and they are great for the support and I take them to my gym now. The air bubble cushioning is just unmatchable in terms of comfort.

Yes Diana! I used to run in the Nike Free RNs and then I switched to more weight training and calisthenics so now I live in Juvenates. Plus I like wearing them even when I’m not working out. What do you recommend for a sports bra? I’m always down for trying new things! Thanks so much for reading. xx
