What to Wear | for Christmas

white missguided coat

Every year I have super high hopes about what to wear for Christmas. I get all excited and set out on the hunt for something fab, gold, and glittery. And every year Christmas comes and goes, and I’m dressed in either all black or an ugly Christmas sweater. So this year instead of blogging about something I know I’m not going to wear, I decided to be practical and give you options I most likely will wear.

This look is for those who are having a low key Christmas at home, (aka cooking and cleaning). It’s a mix of casual and sophisticated, so you don’t look like a total slob kabob. The oversized scarf makes for a super cozy look in case it’s below 10 degrees. It also spices up an otherwise boring outfit.

Scarfs, hats, and belts are all easy accessories  This outfit is just overall comfortable which is what the holidays are all about, right?

For the Fancy Nancy Christmases, you can wear an all black number with a little pump. When I say little I mean little, after all it’s Christmas and you want to be able to walk around, mingle and jingle, and a little kitten heel is perfect.

All black is not groundbreaking but it’s a color that looks good on everyone and you can never go wrong with it. You can spice it up a bit by adding little details here and there, (like the rips and raw hem on my jeans). Jewelry would have been a good detail here too but guess who forgot some? This girl.

I’m obsessed with this look. Leopard for winter is almost as groundbreaking as florals for spring, but who cares? For those people who want to stand out at Christmas try mixing prints like I did here. It’s not obnoxious, but it’s enough to make head turns.

My pants are actually the exact same pants I’m wearing for look 1 but styled completely differently. Here, I chose to tuck my shirt in for an accentuated waist line. In look 1, I chose a flow-y top so it hides my food baby. Either way works and just goes to show how you can wear the same thing multiple times for completely different looks.

What are you wearing for Christmas?
