What to Wear | on New Year’s Eve

what to wear for new years eveEvery New Year’s Eve, I promise myself I’m going to get dressed up, drink a lot of alcohol, and dance my face off. And every year past 24 it’s been me, in my sweatpants with some sort of delicious/disgusting fried food. And I’m surprisingly ok with that. So this year I decided to make an outfit guide for the 3 types of girls on NYE – the Fancy Nancy, Lazy Girl (aka me), and “Cute But Not Too Cute”.

fancy nancy

2016 I became obsessed with outerwear and this green faux fur baby is now on my radar. It gives the outfit some edge while making heads turn. I also think it looks really unique with the gold dress. Gold and green is reminiscent of the 70’s and who doesn’t love the 70’s?!

If I ever do get around to making it out again on New Year’s Eve, I’ll definitely be wearing something like this.

lazy girl

This will 100% be me on NYE. At first we had plans of heading to the city to some ultra chic bar, then I thought about staying up ’til midnight and I saw sweatshirts and sneakers flashing through my head. This is the ultimate lazy girl’s New Year’s Eve outfit.

This outfit is actually my go-to for any night out. I wore something similar for my mom’s birthday, my birthday, and I’ll probably wear it for whoever else’s birthday comes along.

I love onesies because the suck and tuck you in all the right places. I love the cut of the neckline – it’s so flattering for all body types! I added the gold stud boots because they’re awesome and you can actually walk in them. They also add that extra New Year’s Eve sparkle we all strive for, without being too gaudy.

What are your plans for New Year’s Eve?

xx

I’m so lazy when it comes to going out on NYE… Places are so crowded I just can’t stand it. Call me grandma but I enjoy watching a movie or playing board games with the family and boyfriend much more than a fancy party. I usually dress up to have dinner but then I switch to a pair of skinny jeans and a cute sweater.

I’m glad I’m not alone! If you’re a grandma I’m a great grandma, I skip the skinny jeans and go right for the sweatpants. Thanks for reading doll! xx
